Have you hit a wall in your workout regime?
Have you put on some unwanted weight after the holiday season, and now you lack the motivation to get back into “fanatic” mode? Well don’t beat yourself up too bad, it’s easy to do. That thing called “LIFE” finds a way to slow you down from time to time. Don’t panic, my friend. Don’t look
at it as the end of the world, just get back in the saddle and keep on moving.
Here are 3 things to do:
1. FIND A PHYSICAL MOTIVATING FACTOR- Maybe
there is a dress you are dying to get into this summer? If you are a guy, perhaps you want to take your shirt off on your upcoming summer vacay? Perhaps you want to get back to
your pre-pregnancy weight? Put that physical
motivating factor in front of your face at all times. Hang a picture of it in the bedroom, the bathroom, the kitchen, inside the frig/freezer, in you car, etc. Put the responsibility on yourself. Create a obligation; a virtual accountability partner. Create a affirmation that you say every morning/day/night, or in between sets at the gym! Do whatever you have to do to catapult a change in your mind.
2. HOLD YOURSELF TO A QUANTIFIABLE MEASURE-
Drink half your body weight in water daily. Burn 500 calories/4 miles each and every day. Take your
measurements/weigh-in every Monday/morning. Write a positive journal entry about everything good you did towards your goal.
3. TREAT YOUR SELF-
It’s important to reward yourself for good behavior. Make a list of things you HAVE to do during the week to accomplish your goals and then reward yourself. What does that reward need to look like? Maybe it’s a 3oz. glass of your favorite wine, or purchasing a personal development book, or entering into your first 5K Run. Do something fun, powerful, and productive- not just pleasurable.
So if you fell off the wagon, dust yourself off and jump back in the saddle, and just keep moving.
Sometimes LIFE gets in the way, flip the script and let it let you: LIVE INSPIRED & FEARLESSLY
